COST OF THEFT
There is one issue I did not see addressed in the LCBO strike, and that’s the millions of dollars lost to theft/shoplifting every year. In the last three months of 2023, there were 1,500 reported incidents of shoplifting in the Ottawa LCBO outlets alone. I’m sure the number of incidents in Toronto is even higher. That’s a great deal of money that won’t be going to education and health care! It’s very telling that the Crown will not divulge the amount of lost revenue annually by the LCBO. LCBO employees are told not to intervene when thieves walk out with hundreds of dollars’ worth of alcohol. I can’t imagine a retail liquor store owner allowing that to happen! He or she would be too cognizant of their bottom line to permit that kind of loss. It’s past time we got rid of this money-wasting remnant of a century ago. Let us buy our liquor where we want, at significantly lower prices and greater selection.

MATTERS IN THE MEDIA
Yes, the shooter who attempted to assassinate Donald Trump is truly responsible for his own actions, but truthfully, the people working in the liberal mainstream media here in North America have to share the blame as they have very irresponsibly, and knowingly, spewed lies and vitriol about him for the last nine years in a deliberate effort to make people hate the man. As a result, this was bound to happen, and those working in the liberal media are fully aware that it was bound to happen.
