WHAT IS THE U.N. DOING?
All this talk lately about Israel seeking to destroy Iran’s nuclear bomb-making facilities before it’s too late and how everyone expects the U.S. to step in to help Israel achieve this goal is driving me crazy. Am I the only one who wonders why the United Nations continues to sit on its collective hands, doing nothing, as usual, while the world holds its breath, in fear of a nuclear holocaust? Where were they when Palestinian terrorists slaughtered innocent Israelis or when Russia invaded Ukraine? Or when Russia invaded Crimea? Where will they be when China invades Taiwan? The answer is, they will continue to be nowhere to be found. One need only look at the influence of the tyrannical countries that make up the Security Council and various other councils, as well as its participation in the Oct. 7 slaughter (UNRWA), to know why the UN has become the most useless and corrupt organization on the planet. Time to kick it to the curb.

(The United Nations is only interested in condemning Israel which has rendered them a useless entity. The UN has demonstrated zero interest in actually being effective in any of the ongoing conflicts)
NATO SPENDING
The approach of the NATO alliance to increase defence spending from 2% to 5% of their countries’ GDP presents a quandary. Would it be best to be ready to protect or to feed and house their citizens? NATO’s current problem is how can they help Ukraine, who is not a member, without upsetting Russia too much. If NATO increases spending on weaponry for Ukraine, that would be seen as a positive by most but weapons don’t make the world a better place. Is spending more money on defence or offence the best approach? The other option of spending money on making people’s lives much better might lead to less people being interested in wars. Happy, well-fed and housed people want a settled and peaceful life.
