ESSENTIAL SERVICE? Remember during the pandemic when the province deemed the LCBO an essential service? So why now is this alcohol monopoly allowed to walk off the job?

(That’s a good question, so too is why do we still have a monopoly?)
NO PRIDE LEFT Is it just me, or do others see the irony in the fact that for the second time in recent years, the Pride Parade was literally stopped in its tracks by a competing protest movement? Pride began as a protest movement advocating for the rights of the gay community, but now they are being stopped by a protest movement that is supposedly advocating for the rights of Palestinians, who like many in conservative Muslim countries are not terribly supportive of the LGBTQ community, to put it mildly. The executive of Pride should be ashamed of themselves for allowing a small group of pro-Hamas agitators to stop the parade in its tracks, instead of just simply marching ahead and literally pushing out of the way those who are effectively seeking to oppress them. Those who fought for gay rights, some paying with their lives, didn’t let anyone stand in their way, literally and figuratively. There wouldn’t be any Pride celebrations today if they had given in to this type of intimidation. It appears that being gay is less important in Toronto than protesting for Gaza these days.

(It is absurd they buckled so quickly and with little thought to the consequences)
OVERSTAYED HIS WELCOME We’ve all experienced guests who overstay their welcome. It’s great when they first arrive but after conversing for several hours, enjoying dinner then perhaps a card game or two, the evening has come to an end. Despite your obvious fatigue accompanied by yawns and sighs, the guests just don’t seem to be getting the message. When all else fails, you simply have to tell them that it’s time to go and trust that a polite guest will understand and leave. Are you listening, Justin?
