Here we go again, Justin Trudeau announces $750 million to help Quebec deal with temporary immigrants. Quebec could easily raise this money by charging proper royalties on hydroelectricity exported to the United States. But no, Canadians are continually asked to step up and help Quebec financially! I sure hope Trudeau isn’t trying to buy votes in his home province! Money grows on trees in Trudeau’s world and sadly there is no cure for “Wynne” disease!
(Make no mistake, Trudeau will almost always give Quebec everything they ask for. He cannot risk those Liberal seats in the next election)
DANGEROUS GOODS
Regarding Brian Lilley’s column about car theft and the Liberals refusing to act on scanning outbound containers at the port of Montreal (“Ford’s auto motive,” May 15), I’ve got an idea. Perhaps Trudeau and his pals would act faster if we told them there were containers full of harmful carbon being shipped through the port of Montreal. It must be captured!

PAY FOR THEFT
So a couple of thugs steal your car, probably with an illegal handgun nearby and possibly hopped up on illegal drugs to get the courage up to steal your car. You would be lucky to find out they have a licence to begin with. Never mind a threat of not allowing them to get a licence or renewal — hit them in the pocketbook. Steal a $60,000 vehicle (just an example, the price is irrelevant), guess what — after you do jail time you now owe $60,000. Much like child support payments, the court system garnishes earnings until it is paid off. If it takes 20 years and ruins any possible credit rating, then so be it. An aggressive prosecutor can offer terms if they rat out on the guys at the top. Yes, I know I watch too much television, but wouldn’t it be nice to see in the real world.
