CO-OP HOUSING Apart from the fact that young potential home buyers face a multitude of obstacles when attempting to become a homeowner, such as mortgage costs, large down payments, huge development fees and costs, I suggest that our government and developers concentrate on building co-operative housing to allow the 40-year-old generation to move out of their parents’ basement and build some equity.

(Anything would be better than what we are doing now which is nothing)
BOMBING PEACE You can’t bomb people into peace, just into surrender. Those that survive will not think well of their aggressors, hatred will endure. There must be a way to bring together people in the Middle East, and loud words and explosions are the wrong approach. Quiet words and a lot of prayers may help.
Dennis Fitzgerald Melbourne, Australia

FIGHTING A WAR Why is it old men make war and then send young men and women to fight it. How about the old men go and fight instead. (The U.S. – with pin point precision took out most of Iran’s nuclear capabilities without a single boot on the ground)
SLAP ON THE WRIST Our current federal government should switch its slogans from ‘Elbows Up’ and ‘Elbows Down” to ‘Fingers Out’ and pass a bill with some teeth in it that would punish criminals with prison sentences instead of a slap on the wrist. The government should be charged, not the man who fired his rifle to ward off car thieves. If we had the proper legislation to imprison these thieves, he wouldn’t need to protect his belongings with a firearm. They would be in jail.
