WAY TO GO TORONTO ST-PAUL’S
What a great morning! I awakened Tuesday to read that the Conservative candidate has won Toronto-St. Paul’s, the Liberal stronghold and safe seat. I really believe that it was the genius strategy by the CPC to decide, a week ago, to announce that they could not win. To repeat this message over and over and then to say, “If you want to send a message to Trudeau, vote for us,” has resulted in them winning. This was a goodbye election for the Trudeau party.
(A very good result indeed. But Justin Trudeau, in his own words, isn’t going anywhere.)
LIBERAL FAIL … AGAIN
Well that didn’t work out so well, did it? In a desperate attempt to demonize the Conservatives and scare voters of Toronto-St. Paul’s one last time, on Monday Chrystia Freeland claimed that the Opposition party “is really cold and cruel and small.” In channelling her inner Hillary Clinton, she felt that her Mean Girls spin on the infamous “basket of deplorables” quote might have helped put the party’s candidate over the top in this Liberal stronghold. Nope. Apparently even the staunch Liberal supporters in St. Paul’s can only stomach so much condescending contradiction before they finally revolt.

(When they brought Freeland out on election day to comment, that should have been the red flag things weren’t going well for the Liberals. But let’s not forget what she said about the “other side” — “cold, cruel, small.” That is what Freeland thinks of any Canadian who doesn’t vote Liberal.)
CRIME HUNTER
As a big fan of the late Toronto Sun writer Max Haines, I never missed any of his columns and read each of his many books. I have to say I have become a fan of Brad Hunter and his Crime Hunter columns. Like Haines, Brad’s columns are very interesting and enjoyable to read. The Sun has some of the best columnists and I hope this never changes.
