Sorry to hear about Hudson’s Bay Company going out of business. Here’s an idea: The Canadian government buys it to create an all-Canadian product store. The stores may be downsized, but as Canada’s manufacturing sector grows, so will the stores!

(The idea of the government owning a private retail store will accelerate its demise)

POLITICAL PUNISHMENT

There are lots of opinions (both positive and negative) being espoused about Mark Carney and the possible outcome of a looming election. One point that never gets mentioned is punishment. Politicians and political parties could be likened to children. When they misbehave, there needs to be consequences and discipline or the adage “spare the rod and spoil the child” could well apply. If a child misbehaves and there are zero consequences, then the lesson learned is “I can get away with it.” The same applies to politicians and political parties. If we re-elect the Liberal party of Canada after the past 10 years of mismanagement, scandals, lies, and fiscal incompetence, then the lesson they will learn is that they can get away with it and we can expect more of the same. The LPC should be punished and severely after the Justin Trudeau era. Liberal members selected Trudeau as their leader based on brand name recognition, boyish good looks, and a facade of charisma — none of which are appropriate factors for electing a leader. The elected Liberal MPs all nodded their heads and clapped their hands supporting him as he implemented disastrous policies, lied to Canadians repeatedly, and was the centre of numerous scandals. Now we are in a giant fiscal hole and the thought of giving the Liberal Party another chance to dig that hole deeper is truly frightening.

(Canadians probably don’t realize just how bad our financial situation is. It will take a new government to open the books and give us the truth about what’s going on)
