THEY ARE SNAKES

I loved the front page of the Sun on March 23. But the ‘Axis of Weasels’ picture should have been of a two-headed snake. For Trudeau it is a power grab that thanks to Singh will enable him to pass any and all motions that will further erode our rights and freedoms, dragging Canada ever closer to a dictatorship and economic ruin. One look at what happened in Ontario when Horwath sucked up to Wynne shows what we can expect to happen to our economy. Singh should be ashamed of himself, for a few measly ‘concessions’ he has given up all ethics he previously had. I hope the NDP membership kick him to the curb at their earliest opportunity. Shame on both of them for this attack on our democracy and citizens’ election rights. In the last election, we the people spoke and gave the Liberals a minority because we increasingly resent the direction Trudeau and Co. are taking Canada and do not trust Trudeau’s intentions or judgment. With this Liberal-NDP agreement, the sentiment that ‘our votes do not count’ has been confirmed as fact.

(When you step back and think about it, what is the point of the NDP now? That’s what their membership needs to think about)

BAKE-OFF

It seems by adding Brian Lilley’s and Warren Kinsella’s ingredients, the sum total of the red and orange blend is a recipe for the first official incoming flavourless ‘Boring Canada’s Socialism Cake.’ Designed to bake us off as just bland Pied Piper Canadians being led into a one-way mountain of socialism and one rule. And then there are no more parties. We can cry if we want too, just gory. Since we cannot throw the cake out, even if we left it out in the park in all the elements, who said let them eat cake was far ahead of her time because socialism comes only in one flavour and Canadians pay for it in green by colouring us bland. We get the crumbs and they can slice any size they want because they control the cutlery. Perhaps before too many Blue Conservatives plan to be the leader, we need to see their cookbooks of both wedding cake creations and separations because I see a ‘Canadian Bake-Off’ where there will not be any future cake to eat no matter how we cut and slice it, eh. Red Tories need not submit their creations as we are filled up and still gagging.

(You have cooked up a delectable problem in Canadian politics today)

EXPERIENCE MATTERS

Every time I read one of Peter MacKay’s well-informed and intelligent guest columns (“Must do so much more,” March 19), I am reminded, to my dismay, how the Conservative Party passed him over twice for party leadership and as a result we have been living with a lightweight for prime minister since 2015. Peter, I would encourage you to run again but fear the Conservative Party is well on its way to repeating the same mistakes.

(Mackay has certainly learned a lot from his previous leadership bids, but alas, he isn’t going to try again)

OLD STORY TORY

Sat down to watch the news at noon on March 25 with all that is happening around the world. Top story: Tory is going to run for a third term. Nothing about the war or gas price, etc. This man Tory would show up for the opening of an envelope, his face is never off the news. Why?

(And he will face very little opposition in the next election)
