Re “PM plunders Tory plans” (Lorrie Goldstein, March 23): Thank you. I’m not the only one thinking I’m hearing an echo. I picture Mark Carney, parroting the Conservative platform with his hand behind his back, his fingers crossed. Carney has proven that he plagiarizes others’ ideas and accomplishments. He is a grave robber who shamelessly pilfered Jim Flaherty’s attainments. He never saved Canada nor England. He helped create the carbon tax. In my opinion, this man is nothing more than a swindler.

GIVE THE REST OF US A BREAK

Prime Minister Carney is letting first-time home buyers who purchase a house for under a million skip the GST. This was Pierre Poilievre’s idea. So, my friend’s kids who live in Ottawa and can find a house for well under a million don’t have to pay GST. But my kids who live in Mississauga and can’t find a reasonable house for under a million have to pay the higher cost of the house and the GST? Mark Carney, you are a numbers person. Please think about extending it to all first-time home buyers regardless of price to even the playing field.

BUYER BEWARE

The Liberals are sounding more and more like Tories. The underlying question Canadians should be asking themselves is whether the Grits’ abrupt pivot is a “conversion” or “diversion.” Based on the long-standing track record of the Liberal Party in Canada, I would suggest it is the latter. The rhetoric suggests that desperation has set in. Buyer beware! Further, if the Liberals should be successful in holding on to power, they will surely owe Jagmeet Singh and Donald Trump a debt of gratitude.
