This is the first time in years that the Toronto Maple ‘Laughs’ have shown an interest in acquiring players before the trade deadline is over. This year will be no different from the past with these new players if they can’t get past the first round of playoffs. Does anyone truly watch a game other than who scores. When I’ve watched I see opposing defencemen crosscheck Leaf forwards down to the ice and push them out from in front of their net. But when the action is in front of the Leaf goal, there is none of that. Our defencemen are never protecting the goalie. If there is one trade that should be completed it is replacing Morgan Rielly. Every time I look to see if Rielly is clearing in front of the net he’s floating around our blueline waiting for a pass so he can act like a forward. This trade needs to be done while he is still worth something.

NEGATIVE LABELS
Re “UBC professor says not masking is racist, ableist and classist” (Denette Wilford, Feb. 28): There is a major problem with Professor Amy Tan’s claim about people who go maskless. She’s made the mistake of using woke ideology to reach a conclusion rather than employing logic. There’s no logical connection between those not masking and the derogatory categories to which she relegates them. It’s an error in logic called the non sequitur fallacy. In other words, she’s come to a conclusion that does not follow logically from her premise about not masking. Putting negative labels on those with whom you disagree is an easy way to shut down a discussion before it starts.

RESTRICTED ACCESS
Children not of legal age should not have access to computers connected to the internet. There should be a children’s internet and children’s computers should be locked into a children’s internet and any adult attempting to access the children’s internet should face jail time. Any child suffering abuse of any kind from an adult carries with them their whole lifetime a mental stress conflict.
