LEAFS NEED BOUDREAU

A while back in a Letter to the Editor, I said the Maple Leafs should have hired Bruce Boudreau as head coach. The response from the editor was that Craig Berube had won a Stanley Cup. How’s that working out for the team? Senators coach Travis Green is outcoaching Berube. Last I heard, Boudreau was still available. Finishing in first place in their division is great. But we all know it’s the playoffs that count.

(If the Leafs don’t make it to next round, they need to tear it all down … Oh, wait, we said that last year and the year before)

LITTLE CARE FOR THE COUNTRY

Americans, even those who voted for Donald Trump, have been suffering from ‘buyer’s remorse’ ever since Trump got sworn in as president and started his economic campaign against the world to the detriment of his own citizens. Now it will be Canada’s turn for some buyer’s remorse as they find out the “new” Liberal government will continue on as the old, pursuing costly “green” initiatives that accomplish nothing, economic policies that put Canada further into a financial hole and making life less affordable/enjoyable for more Canadians than before. The “majority” who voted Liberal have shown that they don’t care about a vibrant growing economy with jobs for everyone who wants one, but prefer promises of free money and government handouts paid for by the other guy, which just happens to be themselves and all other taxpayers in the country. This continues the tradition once again of Canadian voters being bribed with their own money (that they don’t actually have).

(What’s old, is new again in Canada)

RIP CANADA

RIP Canada, 1867-2025. So much promise, blessed with so much — squandered by so many with opium dreams of power, delusions of grandeur.

Bill Vernon

(At least it’s a minority government)
