TRIPLE CROWN

The shakers and makers of the Triple Crown dream, where one horse wins the Kentucky, Preakness and Belmont all in one year, are losing value in the dream. Why? Owners are finding that racing every two weeks for any horse is a bit too much. So, some are skipping one race. And with this year’s Kentucky Derby winner skipping the Preakness, so ends all the hype and revenue from a Triple Crown dream winner. Simple solution: Look at the option of scheduling the races five to six weeks apart. Let them decide. We need this dream of the chase. Debate amongst yourselves.

(It seems like a reasonable prospect for organizers to consider. But perhaps keeping tradition is more important)

CARNEY FAWNED OVER TRUMP

Our new prime minister certainly showed his mettle when confronted by President Donald Trump. It’s one thing to talk the talk, but another to walk the walk. During the election, Mark Carney convinced voters that he was the one best suited to deal with the egomaniac in Washington. When did fawning over your opponent become a strategy? He looked like a scared little schoolboy called to the principal’s office. Carney is way out of his league when dealing with bullies and it was painful to watch.

(Considering who Carney will be surrounded by, the same old Trudeau gang who have proven themselves incompetent, it doesn’t bode well for Canada they will be doing the negotiating)

TWISTED JUSTICE

The swarming death of Kenneth Lee by a group of evil teenagers should have prompted prison terms for these offenders. Perhaps, instead of charging them with murder or manslaughter, they should have been charged with the heinous crime of mischief! Apparently, ‘mischief’ carries a much harsher penalty, as we are seeing with the heavy-handed adjudication against our brave truck drivers who went to Ottawa to protest tyranny (which was their right). As near as I can see, parking tickets should have been the only penalty for their actions. What a twisted country this has become under Liberal rule.

(It’s appalling how this unfolded, sadly it’s in keeping with our justice system)
