FEWER STAMPS

Can someone explain to me why it is necessary to have postal service five days a week. One might think that since most communication personal and business related is now conducted almost instantaneously through the Internet, shouldn’t the frequency of service and its bureaucracy be trimmed. By way of example, England has for years provided postal service three days per week. The cost of a stamp today is $1.44 and I can recall paying in the order of $0.10 in my early years. So I guess the service must have greatly improved. In the alternative, wouldn’t trimming the service be a rather pain free way of reducing government spending.

(It would be a step in the right direction since by all accounts the postal service is financially doomed)

GET TOUGH ON CRIME

We need to keep our eye on the ball. There is much talk currently on the waves of crime assaulting our communities, especially by those already on some type of release. Responsibility for this debacle lays squarely at the feet of the federal government, specifically the Liberals who instituted the catch and release program. Now is the time for the opposition to band together, along with some Liberals with a conscience, to reverse these laws. Get it done now and save our communities!

(The Conservatives will certainly hold the Liberals accountable, but the NDP aligns with the government’s soft on crime approach. Pressure is going to have to come from premiers and municipal leaders)

FLOOR CROSSERS

Why would I bother to vote in any election if my candidate can just decide to cross the floor, with no vote? I voted for the candidate and that party. I would feel betrayed and feel that voting is just a waste of time.

STAY IN YOUR LANE GUILBEAULT

It would appear our new prime minister should tell Steven Guilbeault, minister of Canadian Culture and Identity, to ‘stay in his lane.’ He is no longer the minister of the Environment.
