KUREK A TRUE CANADIAN

Jagmeet Singh feebly and egregiously clung to power and kept the Liberals in power for two years for the sole purpose of qualifying for his pension. Had he not performed in this pernicious way, we would have had a Conservative government. Instead, we are saddled with another Liberal debacle. A true Canadian, Damien Kurek, emerged after Singh’s removal from politics. Not having the mandatory six years in Parliament to secure his pension, he graciously gave up his seat so that Pierre Poilievre could once again be an MP and leader of the Opposition. What a selfless act and heartfelt move so that Canadians could benefit.

(Kurek acted so incredibly graciously — but it’s not a lesson Singh will learn since he’s now gone from the political scene after overstaying his welcome)

POILIEVRE SHOULD GO

A befuddling sense of leadership from Pierre Poilievre. He accepts a byelection opportunity in Alberta where his party dominates. Furthermore, a seat from a candidate who just earned a hard-fought win. All this to sit in the House where his skills are proven. Did he learn anything from the election? Expand the base outside Alberta, respect your team and do not take their seats, fix your lack of leadership outside the House. Leadership, character, experience — they matter. Time to go.

(For now, he is staying put. But as we have seen what happens with previous Conservative leaders, it takes a few months for caucus to get antsy and organize. Might not happen in Poilievre’s case)

SEDITIOUS ACTS

Now we have two provinces that want to separate from Canada. In the first instance, the Bloc should never been allowed to sit in our federal Parliament, they are a regional party. Secondly, both these groups in Alberta and Quebec should be charged with treason. I could imagine if any state in the U.S. attempted to separate, the troops would be poured into the state. Only the spineless governments we have had over the past decade would allow seditious rhetoric.

(Canada needs unity at this time)
