LACK OF EDUCATION
I learned a lot by reading Kevin Vuong’s column “An open letter to Ottawa principal Aaron Hobbs” (Nov. 16). I was unaware of the contribution of 150 Canadians of Chinese heritage who served in Force 136 of the British Special Operations Executive. They were treated as second-class citizens at that time and didn’t even have the right to vote. Aaron Hobbs is supposed to be an educated man, but his words are anything but those of a man of education. A university degree is useless unless it is accompanied by intelligence. Thank you for publishing this column.

It would appear to me the choices that President-elect Trump is making for his cabinet will have to make two oaths, providing if they pass the Senate confirmations. One will be to swear an oath to the constitution of the States. The second is to swear an oath to Trump, swearing an oath that they will kiss a certain orifice that has a silver spoon in it.

Re Trump’s picks: There is a saying in politics: You can gauge the success of your policies and picks by the reaction of your opponents. If they say it’s a horrible decision and you are going to destroy the country, then you know you have made the right decision.

CANADA POST STRIKE RUINS CHRISTMAS
No surprise here that Canada Post is on strike, again, with holidays soon to arrive before we know it, again. Of course they are the only postal service that delivers letters written by children nationally to the one and only Santa Claus. So, good on Canada Post workers who are annually breaking hearts and dreams of Canadian children whose handwritten letters will never reach the big man.
