AUDITOR’S REPORTS

Re “Ottawa mismanaging green subsidies, audit finds” (Postmedia Network, Sept. 17): Federal auditors have again called out the Liberal government and Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault for his department’s poor oversight of the millions of dollars spent on green subsidies. The Liberals are content to abscond with billions of taxpayers’ dollars collected, then make flashy announcements of the ‘millions invested to save the planet,’ but where those millions of dollars go is anyone’s guess at this point. Whether those dollars are accomplishing anything beyond hiring more government paper pushers and managers to oversee other managers is questionable. The Liberals promise to change the weather by punishing Canadians ‘for living’ while China and India carry on expanding their economies with coal use, which Canada exports more of every year from British Columbia. Why is that? It appears what they are doing is squandering the dollars passed on to anyone who includes the word “green” in their project proposal that doesn’t do anything ‘real.’ I’d bet the billions of dollars of ‘mismanaged money’ by the Liberal government is so staggering the Liberals would not even win one seat if the taxpayers/voters knew about it. No wonder they don’t want Canadians to know about anything they have been doing.

(Imagine having a government which actually pays attention to whether not or tax dollars are being spent wisely. The eye-watering amount of money the Liberals have wasted with no measured outcomes is staggering)

GUILBEAULT CREATED A MESS

I saw an interview with our Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault telling the average Canadian their climate policy is a complex issue. What’s not complex is if I’m laying out $500 in added taxes for gas, heating and all the price increases associated with carbon tax, and I get $500 back from the government, what’s the benefit. The emissions are not going down, we’ve spent $200 billion, now that’s complex. Not to mention a whole new bureaucracy was created to collect the tax only to turn around and send it back? What’s complex is how this government is still in power not listening to the people.
