2025 ELECTION

As much as most Canadians are eager for a federal election this fall, the time is not right for this much-needed major event, well in advance of the fall 2025 scheduled date. The reasons for the delay are the multiple provincial elections which will be in play in October and November and will occupy voter’s time and effort. They are: B.C. (Oct. 29), New Brunswick (Oct. 21), Saskatchewan (Oct. 28), not to mention numerous fall municipal elections across Canada, and, of course, the upcoming U.S. federal election in November. Early spring 2025 looks like the best time for Jagmeet Singh to pull the plug.

(Unless Trudeau himself decides to pull the plug on his government, there will not be a federal election in 2024. The Bloc doesn’t seem keen to rush to an election and the NDP will vote with the Libs still — agreement or not)

DON’T LET THE TRUMP HATE FOOL YOU

In John Snobelen’s column ‘Bizarre presidential debate where facts weren’t facts’ (Sept. 13), it seems he only heard Trump’s comments. He, like the ABC network, has given Harris a hall pass after she either evaded answering the (softball) questions posed to her or outright lied. Does she really believe she can distance herself from the current administration, of which she is vice president, and claim to be a moderate? She has, in fact, proven to be the most radical leftist, Marxist politician in U.S. history, yet denies any participation in the current policies that are destroying the United States and its Constitution. Will the people be fooled? Probably.

(They didn’t fact-check Harris on the spot like they did to Trump. Bottom line, the ABC moderators were advocates for the Democrats — it was terrible)

ANOTHER ATTACK

Two attempts in two months, and the election is 52 days away. Butler is a Swiss cheese of contradictions and inconsistencies, and unanswered questions. A Keystone Kops mess of broken rules and routines, and ignored regulations and procedures that don’t add up. Melania Trump is more than justified to be worried, and, to ask penetrating questions. Now West Palm Beach. How did this guy know that holes four to five were the one and only spot to get close enough to shoot Trump? And, how did he know when to be there? Trump is the most attacked, vilified and threatened president in U.S. history. Is this just disparate individuals acting alone, or a concerted effort to stop Trump? What conclusions are we to draw from these events, and what’s going to happen next?

(When the former president has been so horribly vilified — we lost count how many times he’s been called, “Hitler” — someone who is not right in the head is going to take this seriously and act. It’s madness)
