DON IS STILL THE MAN

Seeing Don Cherry on the cover of the Toronto Sun (Sept. 23) was a breath of fresh air that brought back fond memories of Canada before it became infested by a nefarious form of woke ideology which ultimately undermined his great contributions to Canadian culture. I miss him! So does most of Canada!

POLITICAL SURVIVAL

Just wanted to thank Jagmeet Singh, leader of the NDP, for opening up the opportunity for the Bloc Quebecois to become prominent players in the game of political survival with the Liberal government. Insert sarcasm and scorn. Better keep an eye on all of the NDP caucus because they are plotting to take over leadership. Why don’t you rescue all Canadians from this madness and maybe save yourself from political oblivion?

(Words matter. When you hear the NDP leader say he wants to get things done for all Canadians, he doesn’t really mean it because he speaks with such scorn against anyone who supports the Conservatives. Some latest polling however shows Singh might have a hard time holding on to his own seat)

KEEP PROTESTING

Shame on Jill Dunlop for capitulating in the PC government’s distraction (“Education Ministry to investigate TDSB over ‘field trip’ to political protest,” Bryan Passifiume, Sept. 24) from their inaction around her government’s failure to provide justice and compensation for the mercury poisoning of the people of Grassy Narrows. Thousands of seniors and people from religious organizations marched for the human right to a healthy environment. I am proud to say my grandchildren have protested for human rights and for our environment.

LOST ALL TRUST

I am glad that the TDSB has been called out for allowing young children to be taken to the Grassy Narrows/pro-Palestinian protests. But where is the accountability of the teachers and principal who facilitated the trip and encouraged the children to actively participate? The teachers did not act in the best interests of the children or perform their most basic function – protect their kids. The teachers and the principal should be fired. How can you trust them to put the kids first?
