While the technology is so complex that even the magical Spin Genie would find it difficult to explain, the wizards at Aircards made flat images appear as if they’re penetrating into the real world through anamorphosis: a technique where content is distorted during its creation so that when viewed from the street, it appears three-dimensional. The high-resolution LED billboard screen is the final component that makes The Spin Genie appear to burst out of his lamp and seemingly break free from the billboard’s surface.
It’s not the first time Aircards has been employed to create an immersive experience. In 2024, the company leveraged technology to create a web-based immersive portal, enhanced with gamification and directly connected to in-app rewards, on behalf of Spin Genie’s AR Treasure Quest scavenger hunt-style game.
