The Alouettes have signed American defensive back Quenton Meeks for two years, the team announced on Wednesday.

The 27-year-old played in 17 NFL games with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Chargers, Tennessee Titans and New Orleans Saints, with 10 tackles and two broken passes. He also played in the XFL and USFL and college football for Stanford. This is his first CFL team.

His father, Ron Meeks, was an NFL coach for 22 years, including the Indianapolis Colts when they won Super Bowl XLI.
