Rather than pulling a starter out of his normal turn, the Blue Jays will keep their rotation spinning in the regular manner.

The team announced on Monday night that former Twins starter Jose Berrios will get the ball in Game 2 on Wednesday following ace Kevin Gausman, who has the assignment in the opener of the best-of-three wild-card series at Target Field on Tuesday afternoon.
With that plan rolled out, Chris Bassitt will be lined up to start a Game 3 if necessary on Thursday or to open a best-of-five ALDS series against the World Series champion Astros in Houston on Saturday.
Berrios has had a huge bounce-back season for the Jays and now returns to the city where he made his mark as a bonafide front-of-the-rotation starter.
There had been some speculation that the Jays would jump the line and throw Bassitt into a Game 2 scenario, but it always made more sense to keep both right handers on their regular rest.
Berrios spent sevens seasons playing for the Twins before he was dealt to the Blue Jays at the trade deadline in 2021.
