And the New York Yankees slugger wasn’t peering sideways into his own dugout from the plate Monday night at the Rogers Centre to see if he’d just won the lottery, or somethin’.
Blue Jays’ pitcher Jackson admits ‘I was kind of tipping’ pitches for all to seeBack to video

During that at-bat, moments prior to smashing his second homer of the night, Judge surely was getting some manner of dugout help, as was dead-obvious at the time, and now seems to be confirmed by the Toronto Blue Jays pitcher at the time, Jay Jackson.
Jackson told TheAthletic.com that, “From what I was told, I was kind of tipping the pitch.”
That is, doing something different with his delivery with different pitches, which eagle eyes in the Yankees dugout noticed, to their credit, and somehow passed along to Judge before each pitch during that at-bat.

To their everlasting credit, the veteran Blue Jays announcers on Sportsnet’s live telecast — Dan Shulman and Buck Martinez — immediately noticed Judge’s odd but brief sideways glances a few times while at bat, awaiting Jackson’s next pitch, and proceeded to take a ton of crap over it after the game from overwrought members of the Yankees and their never-happy fans.
Picking up signs through nothing more than visual observation is not illegal, if not 100% honourable.
Said Yankees broadcaster Michael Kay, via AwfulAnnouncing.com: “That’s absolutely legal … as long as there are no electronics involved … The Blue Jays have to do a better job of waiting til the last moment to set up and where the pitch is going to be.”
