It sounds like with Mattingly in charge, the Jays’ approach to coaching hitters will be more streamlined and structured. He’ll work with hitting coaches Guillermo Martinez and Hunter Mense to get the best out each hitter.
In the bigger picture, it will be interesting to see how Mattingly’s off-season plays out.
When he signed on with the Jays, the former Marlins manager seemed enthused about getting more granular about coaching and working closely with players. After a year away from managing, has his view on that changed?
