Michelle Beadle, who is widely known for her time hosting shows at ESPN, was left scrambling after a slip of the tongue over the weekend.

During a live broadcast of FanDuel TV’s Run It Back, Beadle appeared to use a racial slur in the middle of a segment with co-hosts and former NBA players Lou Williams and Chandler Parsons.

During the ‘You Buyin That’ segment, Beadle was shifting topics from the Brooklyn Nets’ Ben Simmons to the Denver Nuggets and a recent comment from Michael Porter Jr.

But instead of saying the team’s name, she appeared to accidently say the racially charged N-word, then turned toward Williams and Parsons after they both reacted and said, “Don’t try to get me on that.”

After Beadle attempted to continue the segment and asked Williams for his thoughts on Denver’s current core of players, Williams responded, “I’m buying. I’m buying. Beadle, you gonna be in trouble today.”

“That’s not fair,” Beadle said. “It’s not even a thing. It’s not even a word.”

Beadle addressed the moment in an Instagram Story on Saturday.

“The moment you say ‘Nuggets’ incorrectly on television and your entire career flashes … while your cohosts die,” she wrote.

“Broadcasting students: slow down. And enunciate.”

The New York Post reports that when asked for comment, FanDuel called the incident a “gaffe,” and referred to Beadle’s Instagram story.

As the trio continued the broadcast, Williams – a former Toronto Raptor who retired in 2022 – answered the question regarding this potentially being Denver’s last run with its current core of players.

Beadle said that “I don’t like hearing that, though,” then Parson seemingly started to say, “We didn’t like hearing …”

Beadle replied with “shut up,” prompting the trio to start laughing.

“I’m sweating,” said Parsons, who spent nine years in the NBA before retiring in 2020.

“You coming in the club, I got you,” Williams said. “Ain’t nobody gonna say nothing.”

“Now I’m sweating,” Beadle said, concluding the banter.

Beadle worked for ESPN from 2009-12 and from 2014-19, hosting a variety of shows during her tenures. She joined FanDuel TV in 2022.
