While the 73-year-old Belichick was aiming to promote his new book, The Art of Winning, during a sit-down with Tony Dokoupil on CBS Sunday Morning, it was the coach’s 24-year-old girlfriend who stole all the headlines.

Now comes a report from ProFootballTalk that Belichick, who is in his first year as head coach at the University of North Carolina, is looking for some outside PR help, with Hudson seemingly not up to the task as his “de facto agent.”

PFT reports that Belichick has been talking to at least one PR specialist “in the hopes of boosting his book tour and/or the overall interests of the North Carolina football program.”

The outlet said that the longtime New England Patriots coach has been having conversations with former Chicago Bears communications exec Brandon Faber and that “discussions have been occurring for a couple of months.”

However, nothing is yet to have been formalized, though the potential assignment would include working directly for UNC and/or assisting Belichick.

Belichick has said in a statement last week that he has “both a personal and professional relationship,” with Hudson, who is 49 years his junior.

Earlier this year, it was reported that Hudson has been acting as Belichick’s “de facto agent,” and that she “forced” her way into appearing with him in a Super Bowl ad for Dunkin’ Donuts.

Last week, Belichick and CBS released back-and-forth statements regarding the interview.

In a statement released through UNC, Belichick defended Hudson, saying that she was “simply doing her job” to keep the interview on track, and he alleged that the network had “selectively edited clips.”

He also claimed that CBS was attempting to push a “false narrative” painting Hudson as “attempting to control the conversation.”

Belichick said that he told a publicist at Simon & Schuster that any interviews he did for his book “would agree to focus solely” on the memoir – something that CBS flatly denied with its statement.

In a statement posted to X last Wednesday, the network denied Belichick’s claim, saying that the arrangement was for “a wide-ranging interview” that had “no preconditions or limitations.”

“When we agreed to speak with Mr. Belichick, it was for a wide-ranging interview.

“There were no preconditions or limitations to this conversation. This was confirmed repeatedly with his publisher before the interview took place and after it was completed.”

During the interview, Hudson interrupted Dokoupil when he asked the NFL icon to talk about how he had met his much-younger flame.

“We’re not talking about this,” Hudson said from her seat off-camera.

“No?” Dokoupil replied as he looked over at Hudson, who responded, “No.”

Dokoupil also described Hudson as a “constant presence” during his interview with the eight-time Super Bowl champion and said neither of them were “comfortable” with the topic.
