That’s right: The team scooped up some dirty snow that had been shovelled off the field during Sunday’s game and put it up for sale – and their fans went wild for it.

The team sold 100 pints of snow from the 28-22 win for US$50 each with the lot selling out in roughly two hours.

According to a press release from the Eagles, the “snow will be shipped using dry ice to maintain its natural state during transit.”

The team also encouraged buyers “to keep the container frozen to further preserve and maintain the snow’s authentic state.”

The club sold the rather unique commemorative item on TheRealest.com, with an item description that certainly caught the attention of the Philly faithful.

“This isn’t your typical piece of memorabilia — it’s a tangible, frozen snapshot of the grit, passion and determination that defined the iconic game,” the description for the item read. “By preserving and authenticating the very snow that surrounded this monumental game, fans are offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to connect with the playoff experience like never before.”

Even the team’s players were befuddled by the quick cash-grab, questioning if people would actually buy the snow.

“What are they doing, like scooping it and putting it in that thing like ice cream?” Eagles cornerback Darius Slay said Wednesday when asked about the snow sale. “That’s crazy. So, somebody is going to really buy snow?”

But when he found out the collectible already had sold out, he quickly did a 180, praising the passion of the team’s fanbase.

“People bought snow? That’s why this is the best city, man,” Slay said. “They passionate around here. We buying snow. I love it.”
