Like pouring water on a grease fire, Jordon Hudson’s apparent attempt to snuff out the broiling controversy growing from this past weekend’s viral incident at boyfriend Bill Belichick’s CBS interview has only blown up further.
The 24-year-old former cheerleader appears to be in over her head when it comes to managing the reponse to the now-infamous interview, during which she reportedly caused a scene on several occasions.
Belichick, an NFL coaching legend, had been taking part in an interview with Tony Dokoupil to promote his new book The Art of Winning. According to TMZ and ProFootballTalk, Hudson interrupted several times and caused a half-hour delay by storming off the set.
On Tuesday, Hudson posted a screenshot of an email that Belichick sent to his team expressing disdain over media outlets choosing to highlight a passage of the memoir in which he admits he “f***ed up,” during a Super Bowl.
“I am fine with putting mistakes in the book, but I am certainly not surprised that of the 260+ pages, that is what they would highlight,” the former New England Patriots coach wrote.
“And of course, the ‘I f***ed up’ is the click bait they used for the story.”
Belichick, now the head coach at the University of North Carolina, asked his team if he could approve of publications’ headlines and requested that they alter their plan for appearances.
“These appearances will, no doubt, want to focus on whatever negatives they can extract from the book, and all the current events that don’t have anything to do with the book, but are most relevant to their ‘ratings’ and their agenda (which is not mine),” he wrote.
“This book is about how I did my job, and lessons from my 50 years in and around the NFL — not a bathroom book that highlights my mistakes,” Belichick added.
“I am not going to be the conductor of a hype train in the book promotion — we have enough hype to work with,” he concluded. “I hope we can get on the same page in promoting the book authentically.”
Hudson, who has become ever-present when it comes to Belichick’s appearances in the media, posted the email on her Instagram account with the Taylor Swift song Look What You Made Me Do and the caption “Full statement to be released later today.”
Later on Tuesday, Hudson made another foray onto social media, reviving her X account and reposting several replies.

While the account, which has the handle @Jordonbella, isn’t verified on X, it has been active since 2013 and is one of just 32 accounts that Belichick’s official account follows.
Most of the reposts by Hudson’s purported account are from replies to BarStool Sports’ Dave Portnoy and PFT.
One post was commenting on Belichick’s demeanour during the CBS interview, saying that he looked like he wanted to “strangle” Dokoupil.
“Bill looks like he wants to reach across and strangle the life out of the interviewer. I kinda wish he did,” the post read.
Others mainly were reacting to Hudson shutting down a question by Dokoupil about how she and Belichick met – something that has been widely reported.

In fact, Hudson even reposted an Instagram Story on Tuesday from earlier this year in which she celebrated hers and Belichick’s “Meetiversary.”
This is just the latest social media firestorm that the couple has come under this week.
According to insiders who spoke to the New York Post, some people close to the NFL coaching legend are alarmed by how much the 24-year-old former cheerleader has inserted herself into every aspect of his life and career.
Some friends of the 73-year-old were “shaking their heads” even before the interview. The news outlet also revealed and that Belichick’s friends “are talking to him about her, but very gently because they know how deep in he is.”
The insider added that Hudson “saw an opening and she took it.”
Another source told the Post that the consensus among people around Belichick is that his relationship with Hudson is “alarming” and that she “is a runaway train.”
During an interview with CBS that aired on Sunday, Hudson interrupted Dokoupil when he asked the NFL icon to talk about how he had met his much-younger flame.
“We’re not talking about this,” Hudson said from her seat off-camera.
“No?” Dokoupil replied as he looked over at Hudson, who responded, “No.”
In the latest twist, Belichick on Wednesday released a statement through UNC, coming to the defence of Hudson while saying they share “both a personal and professional relationship.”
“I agreed to speak with CBS Sunday Morning to promote my new book, The Art of Winning — Lessons from My Life in Football,” Belichick said in his statement. “Prior to this interview, I clearly communicated with my publicist at Simon & Schuster that any promotional interviews I participated in would agree to focus solely on the contents of the book.
“Unfortunately, that expectation was not honored during the interview. I was surprised when unrelated topics were introduced, and I repeatedly expressed to the reporter, Tony Dokoupil, and the producers that I preferred to keep the conversation centered on the book.
“After this occurred several times, Jordon, with whom I share both a personal and professional relationship, stepped in to reiterate that point to help refocus the discussion. She was not deflecting any specific question or topic but simply doing her job to ensure the interview stayed on track.
“Some of the clips make it appear as though we were avoiding the question of how we met, but we have been open about the fact that Jordon and I met on a flight to Palm Beach in 2021.”
Belichick also said that the interview doesn’t reflect the entirety of his conversation with Dokoupil.
“The final eight-minute segment does not reflect the productive 35-minute conversation we had, which covered a wide range of topics related to my career. Instead, it presents selectively edited clips and stills from just a few minutes of the interview to suggest a false narrative — that Jordon was attempting to control the conversation — which is simply not true.”
