But apparently the young duffers weren’t in much danger at all – the gun turned out to be a rubber dummy.

Chrystal Lawson, 39, surrendered to police Wednesday after armed officers surrounded her home following reports from a pair of frightened teens golfing nearby.

According to a report from the Barnstable Police Department, the two young men were playing a round of golf at Olde Barnstable Fairgrounds in Marstons Mills, Conn., around 4 p.m. on Wednesday when the woman appeared from the tree line yelling at them to stay out of her yard.

“When the golfers responded that they were not in her yard, she presented what appeared to be a black pistol, waving and pointing it at them,” the report said.

Officers identified Lawson’s property as the likely source of the threat and she came out without incident when they approached, according to the statement.

Upon investigation, the officers found no actual weapons inside her house, turning up a pair if rubber guns and a replica of a pistole magazine.

Lawson was arrested and charged with two counts of assault by means of a dangerous weapon and was released on personal recognizance. She was due back in Barnstable District Court on Friday.
