Maple Leafs, Panthers series will start on Monday night

Article content
We know when the second round between the Maple Leafs and Florida Panthers will start.
The National Hockey League announced just after midnight that Game 1 will be at 8 p.m. on Monday at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
There was a indication earlier on Friday night that the best-of-seven series would not start until Monday, when the Leafs announced their practice on Saturday at the Ford Performance Centre will be optional. Had the series against Florida started on Sunday, it’s likely that Saturday would have been a full practice.
Now, the Leafs can have everyone on deck for practice on Sunday ahead of the Monday opener.
The remainder of the series is to be announced.
The Leafs will have been off since eliminating the Ottawa Senators on Thursday. The Panthers have been idle since Wednesday, when they ousted the Tampa Bay Lightning in five games.
