Whether any of the three integral Leafs play at home against the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday is to be determined.
“They’re not feeling well enough to have it make sense to come in (on Wednesday),” coach Sheldon Keefe said after practice. “We’ll just monitor them through the day and they’ll try to get some food down and see where they’re at (on Thursday).”
With Marner out, suspended defenceman Morgan Rielly skated on the right wing on a line with Auston Matthews and Matthew Knies.
“I actually thought maybe if we changed his number, nobody would notice we put him out there on right wing,” Keefe said with a grin. “It helps us get through practice, but it gives (Rielly) some different touches and maybe something different helps break up this (otherwise idle) period of time for him.”
