“We are delighted to be able to count on Claire’s services again next season. In addition to having good size, she showed great things last season and we know that her progress will continue,” Montreal general manager Danièle Sauvageau said.

The 5-foot-9 player from Etobicoke, Ont., scored the first goal in the history of the Montreal team on Jan. 2 in Ottawa. Dalton, 24, also scored the second hat trick in franchise history, scoring three goals against Ottawa on Feb. 24.

Dalton completed the season with five goals and four assists, as well as a plus-3 rating in 20 games. She was selected in the 12th round, 67th overall, by the Montreal club in the inaugural PWHL draft.
