PWHL Montreal signs Jennifer Gardiner for two seasons

A forward with the Ohio State Buckeyes, she was selected 11th overall in the PWHL draft.

Montreal’s Professional Women’s Hockey League team announced Tuesday that it has agreed to a standard two-year contract with forward Jennifer Gardiner, selected in the second round, 11th overall, during the last PWHL draft.

Gardiner won two NCAA national championships with the Ohio State Buckeyes, including 2023-24, when she finished as the team’s second-leading scorer with 45 points.

“Jennifer had an excellent academic career. In addition to being productive, she has learned to win and we are delighted to add a player of her calibre to our lineup,” said general manager Danièle Sauvageau in a statement. “We expect her to fit very well with our offense, and we look forward to seeing her wear our colours.”

The 22-year-old from Surrey, B.C., was one of 10 finalists for the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award as the NCAA’s Most Outstanding Player in 2023 after scoring 21 goals and 57 points in 41 games.
