The Irish UFC superstar said on Thursday that he’ll be headed back to the Oval Office — a potential tease for a return to the octagon after U.S. President Donald Trump said last week he would love to host an event at the White House next year.

McGregor, who met with Trump and members of his staff earlier this year, made the claim during a press conference for a Bare Knuckle FC event, which is a promotion that McGregor co-owns.

“It’s looking like I’m headed to the Oval Office again,” the former UFC champion said. “That’s where I’m headed next.”

His statement was met with applause from the fans in attendance.

McGregor’s latest claim comes days after he posted his interest in headlining the potential White House event – which would coincide with July 4 celebrations for America’s 250th birthday – next year.

“Accuracy is final. I’ve most KO’s of all by a long shot and I’ve been chilling on my yachts the last 4 years,” McGregor posted on X last week.

“To return at the White House with my sniper accuracy would be a very intriguing offer and would bring me back in to focus on my return correctly.”

Last week, Trump announced his desire to host the bold event, leading to several UFC stars showing their interest in being involved in the historic action.

“And I even think we’re going to have a UFC fight … Does anybody watch UFC and the great Dana White?” Trump asked the crowd to a round of applause.

“We’re going to have a UFC fight. We’re going to have a UFC fight,” Trump added. “Think of this: On the grounds of the White House.

“We have a lot of land there. We’re going to build a little — we’re not, Dana’s going to do it, Dana’s great, one of a kind — we’re going to have a UFC fight, championship fight, full fight, like 20-25,000 people.”

The controversial Irish star had been slated to make his long-awaited return last summer, but his bout with Michael Chandler was shelved after McGregor suffered a toe injury during training.

McGregor has been keeping busy in his time away from the octagon. While regularly sharing glimpses of his training and partying on his Instagram, the Irishman also has launched a campaign for the Irish presidency, often ending his posts on social media with a “Vote McGregor” tag.

McGregor also was caught on video appearing to assault a man at a nightclub in Ibiza, Spain, last month.
