The fighter known as Bomba had a 10-6 professional record in MMA and competed in early 2014 as a cast member on The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil, Season 3. He went 1-1 on the show, but earned a UFC contract anyway. However, he lost his sole fight in the promotion, dropping a unanimous decision to Luke Zachrich at UFC 175.
According to TMZ, Vasconcelos and Lovato began dating after being spotted together on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day in 2017.
They split after several months of dating with outlets reporting the relationship “had run its course.”
UOL also reported that Vasconcelos left behind a one-year-old daughter, whom he shared with model Kayla Lauren.
Several MMA fighters posted tributes to their fallen comrade.
Vinny Magalhaes posted a picture of Bomba on Instagram with the caption: “I rarely make posts like this, and honestly I never imagined I’d make a post like this for a guy as good as you.
“Rest in peace my friend, hope you find the peace you’ve been looking for on the other side.”
