Dakota, who also is a surfer, was struck on the side of the Oahu’s Kamehameha Highway and hospitalized with “multiple fractures in his legs, pelvis, ribs, and skull,” according to a GoFundMe page set up on his behalf.

Briley also reportedly suffered “unthinkable injuries” to his spine.

Dakota’s brother Ryder shared a picture of the surfer in a hospital bed to his Instagram Story on Monday.

“Please continue to pray for our Dakota, he’s in really rough shape and needs a miracle from god,” Ryder wrote before detailing his brother’s horrific injuries.

“His ribs have been crushed, his spine is severed and broken in multiple places, the back of his skull has been crushed, fractured in over eight places, from the hip down his legs have been crushed. He needs a miracle, please pray for God to make him whole again.”

As of Wednesday afternoon, the GoFundMe had raised more than $163,000 US, blowing past its original goal of $50,000.

“(Dakota’s) incredible medical team were able to stabilize his legs and are now working tirelessly on multiple surgeries to the rest of his body,” the note on the GoFundMe page reads.

“Our hope is that God performs a miracle.”

Briley rose to fame in the 1990s and is widely regarded as one of the greatest Pipeline surfers, winning the Tavarua Tube Classic in 1995.
