If you thought the winning the World Cup would be cause for celebration enough, Budweiser is certainly upping the stakes.
After Qatar and FIFA made a last-minute decision to ban alcohol sales in and around stadiums during World Cup games, a tweet from Budweiser’s official Twitter account on the weekend says that the winner of the tournament will now receive all of the beer sent to the event.
“New Day, New Tweet. Winning Country gets the Buds. Who will get them?” Budweiser sent out with a picture of cases of beer in an undisclosed warehouse.
According to reports, it is expected the brewing giant will sue FIFA for breach of contract over the ban of beer sales. Budweiser has a sponsorship deal with FIFA reportedly worth more than $100 million and not being able to sell their product will take a big bite out of its bottom line.
