Thursday night, Muncy will face Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright, who may finally be getting caught by Father Time.
Wainwright has made just two starts this season because of a groin injury and in those two outings had an ERA of 7.20.
It’s a small sample size, but lefty batters have five extra base hits in 5.1 innings vs. Wainwright this year.
Muncy has been crushing righties all season long and I expect that to continue tonight.

Matt Chapman OVER 1.5 Total Bases +117, Unibet (Wager: 1 unit to win 1.17 units)
Since being named the AL Player of the Month for April, Matt Chapman has been on a cooler.
The Blue Jays third baseman is slashing .207/.292/.259 in 65 May plate appearances.
He’ll get a good chance to turn things around tonight against Yankees lefty Nestor Cortes Jr., who has struggled this season.
Cortes has been smashed by righty batters this year, allowing a .281 AVG and a .489 SLG%.
Chapman is batting .500 against southpaws this season and historically has fared well against lefty pitchers throughout his career.
If you’re a believer in batter vs. pitcher stats, Chapman is 3-for-11 all-time against Cortes Jr. with one double and two home runs.

Luis Arraez OVER 1.5 Hits +150, BetMGM (Wager: 1 unit to win 1.5 units)
It may not be a stretch to say that Luis Arraez is the best hitter against right-handed pitching in baseball.
The Marlins second baseman has almost no power (one homer on the season), but just finds a way to get hits.
Arraez is batting .400 against right-handers this year in 125 plate appearances and has struck out just twice against that handedness in 2023.
He has one or more hit in three straight games and will try to continue that streak tonight against Nationals pitcher Trevor Williams who has allowed a .295 AVG to lefty hitters this season.
Look for Arraez to keep things rolling this afternoon.
