March 10th recap: Aaron Ekblad and Mikael Backlund came through, hitting the over on their shot props. It would have been an even better night had Andreas Athanasiou picked up a power play point, but Chicago could not score on six (!) power plays.

John Tavares over 3.5 SOG (+115, DraftKings) Wager: 1 unit to win 1.15 units
It’s been a nice run for the Maple Leafs and their captain lately, with four or more shots on goal in three straight games. The Leafs have been running 11 forwards and seven defencemen in some of their recent games, which has opened up more ice time for their star players, including Tavares.

Morgan Rielly over 0.5 Power Play Points (+260, FanDuel) Wager: 1 unit to win 2.6 units
As mentioned above, the Sabres penalty kill has been quite bad this season. Buffalo’s 72.7% kill rate ranks second worst in the NHL, only better than Vancouver’s 68.7%.
Over their last 10 games, Buffalo’s PK has allowed seven goals.
Rielly hasn’t been as prolific of a power play point producer this season as he has in years past, but anytime you can skate on a unit with the likes of Matthews, Marner, Tavares and Nylander, you’re not going to have to do much to get in on the action.
Nathan MacKinnon over 1.5 Points (+110, BetMGM) Wager: 1 unit to win 1.1 units
The lowly Montreal Canadiens, losers of six in a row, will host Colorado tonight.

The Avs have won just two of their last six games but have averaged 3.6 goals during that stretch.
MacKinnon has been on a tear lately, with 24 points in his last 14 games.
Skating over 21 minutes a night, the Avs superstar is always making something happen, and if Colorado comes away victorious tonight, I expect him to be a big reason why.
