The Russian tennis star made the claim during a recent appearance on compatriot Elena Vesnina’s podcast that No. 9-ranked men’s player in the world had messaged her and revealed her reply.

“Rune recently texted me,” Kudermetova said, according to U.K. outlet Express.

“I told him, ‘Boy, I’m probably too old for you. If you looked at my Instagram, you’d see I have a husband.’ He replied, ‘Oh, sorry.’

“Since then, he doesn’t even say hello to me anymore.”

The 28-year-old Kudermetova has been married to her coach, Sergey Demekhine, since 2017 and he has been featured on her Instagram feed several times.

He was featured in a snap from July at the Wimbledon Champions’ Dinner alongside Kudermetova, who won the women’s doubles alongside Belgian partner Elise Mertens. It was the Russian’s first Grand Slam doubles win.

“When I finish (sic) the match, I mean, was so emotional. I even start to cry a little bit, but then I saw Elise. She cry, (so) OK, I have to hold my emotion!” she exclaimed after defeating Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko and Taiwan’s Hsieh Su-wei in the final at the All-England Club.

While both Kudermetova and Rune currently are competing at the National Bank Open, the pair are competing in different cities with the women’s event taking place in Montreal and the men’s tournament in Toronto.

However, that didn’t stop commentators from mentioning the hot gossip during Kudermetova’s match vs. Coco Gauff.

“Just supporting her tennis,” the other commentator responded with a slight laugh.
