According to the Wall Street Journal, WWE’s first female referee, Rita Chatterton, is seeking $11.75 million in damages from McMahon, accusing him of sexually assaulting her in the back of a limo close to 40 years ago.
Chatterton, 65, has been vocal about the allegations since the early 1990s. McMahon has always denied them.
In a Nov. 3 letter addressed to McMahon’s lawyer, Jerry McDevitt, Chatterton’s attorney John Clune demanded the nearly $12 million in damages, stating the allegations were “hard to overstate.”
In the letter, Clune stated Chatterton suffered years of depression, eating disorders, lost income, substance abuse and declined quality of life due to the alleged sexual assault, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Chatterton told New York Magazine the ex-WWE head honcho had demanded sexual favours from her in return for a $500,000 US a year contract with the wrestling promotion.
“He promised me half a million dollars a year,” Chatterton told New York Magazine.
McMahon has reportedly told pals he refuses to pay a settlement to Chatterton, according to the WSJ. Earlier this year, McMahon stepped down as WWE’s CEO and chairman after the company launched an investigation into reported $12 million settlements with four women he allegedly had affairs with over the years.
The WSJ report noted McMahon regretted stepping down, stating it was a result of bad advice received from his inner circle, believing the sex scandals would blow over had he remained in charge.
After stepping down, McMahon was replaced as WWE’s figurehead by his daughter, Stephanie, and Nick Khan.
