The blonde bombshell has come under fire for her partnership and new commercial for clothing brand American Eagle, which features the line “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans” — a pun on “genes” — which many believe has racial undertones.

The phrase initially said: “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Genes,” before the last word is crossed out and replaced with “Jeans.”

That “corrected” tagline, “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans,” appears in nearly every ad for the campaign.

“Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair colour, personality, and even eye colour. My jeans are blue,” Sweeney says in the advertisement.

This campaign received significant and immediate backlash on social media, with many claiming that the message promotes eugenics and white supremacy.

But Sgt. Slaughter, real name Robert Remus, posted his support of Sweeney on his X account on Wednesday.

“Attention (Sydney Sweeney) YOUGO GIRL That’s An Order!!” the WWE Hall of Famer wrote, including emojis for pointing and a flexed bicep.

Unfortunately, it’s uncertain whether the blonde bombshell actually received the message from the grappling great. Slaughter accidentally tagged a fan account for the 27-year-old actress, which is clearly stated in the bio.

In fact, while Sweeney is quite active on Instagram, she has not posted on her official X account in over a year, when she was promoting the movie Immaculate.

One user on X pointed out the error to the 76-year-old retired wrestler, who responded with an emoji of himself making a shushing motion.

Sweeney, who co-starred in the thriller Echo Valley with Julianne Moore earlier this year, will be starring in a biopic of women’s boxing legend Christy Martin — simply titled Christy — which will debut at TIFF later this year.
