Foley gave an update Thursday on Instagram after getting into a nasty-looking car crash earlier in the week – one that he said he was “lucky” to walk away from.

The 59-year-old WWE hall of famer addressed his fans, thanking them for their support after the scary incident.

“I just want to take a moment to thank all of you for your well wishes, your positive energy, your prayers,” he said in a video posted to his social media account on Thursday.

“I had so many people in wrestling reach out to me. I was just sending some texts with the Undertaker a few minutes ago. Triple H reached out. Been a pleasure, really, to have some of the biggest stars in wrestling and (wrestler) Al Snow reach out to me. That never gets old.”

Foley, who was known to take a lot of punishment during his in-ring career, said that he is “banged up” after the crash.

“I feel like a truck has run over me,” he said in the clip. “I’m propped up against, like, seven pillows.

“But looking at the accident and looking at the car, I don’t think anyone would predict the guy in that car would come out of it with soft tissue damage. I wouldn’t say it’s miraculous, but I’m feeling really fortunate right now. I will not be missing any of my dates.”

He wrapped up his video by assuring fans that this wasn’t any sort of April Fool’s prank, while continuing to express his gratitude.

“I just want to thank all of you, assure you it was not an April Fool’s joke,” he said. “I’m very grateful, I’m very sore, but thankful for all of you. Have a nice day.”

On Wednesday, Foley posted a photo of himself standing next to a totalled car which appeared to be dozens of metres off a road where a firetruck sat.

“I have no idea how I am still walking around after this accident. I’m in the hospital now, and I’m sore from my knees to my neck, including a minor concussion.”

Foley has not divulged any specifics about the crash, such as its location or if any other cars were involved.

Foley became a huge star in the world of pro wrestling during WWE’s Attitude Era. While he is a three-time WWE world champion, his most iconic moment came during a Hell in a Cell match against the Undertaker, when he was thrown from the top of the structure – nearly 20 feet from the ground – onto an announce table.
