Raptors extend winning streak at home to 10 games
The beat goes on for the Raptors, who have beaten all comers at the Air Canada Centre. Their defence was good, their energy, for the most part, was good. Their overall efficiency was good and it all added up to a 102-86 win in a rare 5 p.m. Saturday start time. 76ers' Embiid has greatness written all over him DeMar DeRozan didn’t have to pour in a career-high 45 points as he did on in Philadelphia on Thursday. “We need him,’’ Raptors head coach Dwane Casey said of DeRozan. “We need that spark. For him to stretch the floor; he’s been playing at a high level.” Not surprisingly, the Sixers decided to double team DeRozan, whether it was on the catch or when he put the ball on the floor. In the return game, DeRozan got off only two first-half three-pointers, but he did get to the line five times, burying each attempt as he scored 11 points, one of three Toronto starters to reach double digits in scoring. With Xmas looming, it was as if both teams were getting an early jump on the holiday festivities. A second-chance basket brought the Sixers to within seven points with 7:10 remaining in the third period. MILES STILL MISSING
