It’s a five-in-one device that primarily functions as a handheld fan, but with additional features that make it a worthwhile purchase for anyone looking to beat the heat this season. Weighing in at just under 300g, it’s small enough to pack into a handbag or backpack for use during sweaty commutes, road trips or while travelling. It also comes with an assortment of attachments to tackle a range of other jobs.
I was skeptical that it would live up to all its claims, but I’m happy to report that the fan actually works and (excuse the pun) kind of blew me away.

JisuLife Ultra2 Handheld Fan review
While this was my first time testing out any of JisuLife’s handheld fans, I’ve previously purchased one of the brand’s neck fans in an attempt to keep cool on vacation in the Florida heat. I was somewhat underwhelmed by the neck fan because it only featured three fan speeds (low, medium and high) and it wasn’t particularly powerful unless it was running at max speed. Unfortunately, this also drained the battery quickly, so I ended up ditching the neck fan for a wet Buff neck gaiter after a day or so. My experience with the Ultra2 couldn’t be more different.
Namely, the battery life was much longer-lasting. The fan arrived with a 67 per cent charge, and after days of on and off use, it only dropped to 50 per cent charge. Thanks to its 43,000 RPM motor, this handheld fan also delivers some impressive gusts of wind. I find the levels 15 to 30 provide a strong enough breeze to cool down, but you can increase the wind strength to 100 should you so choose.

I wouldn’t recommend using anything above level 50 for long-term fanning purposes as it gets quite loud – however, these higher settings are ideal if you’re cleaning crumbs from your car or inflating pool floats, sleeping pads and air mattresses. I used the highest wind setting and the magnetic brush attachment to clean my computer keyboard, and found that it effectively removed all of the hidden dust and crumbs from between the keys in minutes.
While I haven’t used the built-in light much, it’s a great bonus feature for those who go camping and want a lightweight alternative to bulky flashlights. There are three brightness levels as well as a flashing light mode, which in addition to the device’s power bank would be helpful in case of emergencies.
Favourite feature: Compact and portable
The best feature of this handheld fan is its compact size. It’s lightweight and fits well into a range of bags if you want to keep the fan on hand when you’re on the go. If you’re travelling and want to bring along the entire kit, the handy carrying case won’t weigh you down as it takes up roughly as much space as a couple of pairs of socks.

Least favourite feature: Noise
As I mentioned above, this fan can get noisy at higher speeds. It has a high-pitched whine that I only find tolerable for use in short bursts, so I usually keep the fan running at a low level when I’m using it to cool down. If you’re less sensitive to sounds, this may not even be an issue, but it’s worth noting that some may find the fan to be annoying.
Final thoughts: Who should consider the JisuLife Ultra2 Fan
Sky-high temperatures this summer have caused many Canadians to crank up their air conditioning, which can stress power grids and increase your energy bills. A handheld fan like the JisuLife Ultra 2 can help keep you cool and lower energy usage, or just ensure that you don’t overheat when you’re outdoors.
I’m prone to heat exhaustion, so I appreciate being able to bring this portable fan along with me on extra-hot days. My husband has also been impressed by this fan and has used it on camping trips, since the multipurpose tool acts as a fan, battery pack, and flashlight in one. As long as you don’t mind the noise that comes with its high-powered motor, this handheld fan is a versatile tool worth keeping around.
