* The TIFF Kids International Film Festival runs March 9-18 at the TIFF Bell Lightbox. The festival offers 10 days of programming to inspire and empower children through filmmaking and animation. See tiff.net/kids for details.

* The Toronto Zoo has extended hours and events March 12-16 — everything from daily keeper talks to animal encounters. It’s also your last chance to see Da Mao and Er Shun, and cubs Jia Panpan and Jia Yueyue. The Giant Panda Experience closes March 18, and the captivating panda family moves to the Calgary Zoo. * From March 12-18, visitors to Black Creek Pioneer Village can travel back in time to solve the case of Sherlock Holmes and the Maple Mystery. Work with Sherlock Holmes and Watson to crack codes, solve tricky puzzles and hunt for clues around the historic village. Kids 14 years and younger are free with adult admission.
