Going into this season, the storylines seemed to focus on an iron-clad Top Four. Manchester City and Liverpool have been the top two teams by a distance the past four seasons, but with Chelsea’s resurgence under Thomas Tuchel and their free-spending ways they, along with fellow big spenders Manchester United were seen as a nailed on group to take the Champions League spots.
