ELMVALE, ONT. and QUEBEC – As a nurse who works in the emergency room at a busy hospital, Lisa Cormier is used to all sorts of surprises. “That’s when I knew I was with a star,” says Cormier, an animal-lover who instantly fell in love with JC. The story of the stolen exotic animals hit the headlines and touched the hearts of animal lovers across the country. “They didn’t believe me,” she says. “They asked me if I had been drinking and thought maybe I had just found a skunk.”
