Drake made a surprise appearance in his hometown on Tuesday night in the concert venue he opened a few years ago with Live Nation.
In a heartwarming gesture of camaraderie, Drake, addressing rapper Lil Yachty as “Boat” during the latter’s concert, acknowledged the electric atmosphere at History in Toronto’s east end, proclaiming, “You been going crazy tonight. You’re one of my best friends in the world.”
The heartfelt exchange was a poignant reminder of the deep bonds that exist within the music industry. Drake, who hadn’t set foot in his hometown in four months, took the opportunity to let Lil Yachty shine, urging him to take a breather.
In response, Lil Yachty rallied the crowd, exclaiming, “Open up the circle!”
What followed was nothing short of explosive. A colossal mosh pit erupted, the energy in the venue surging to a fever pitch. The throng of fans became a sea of movement, pulsating to the beat of Drake’s new hit Meltdown, featuring none other than the magnetic Travis Scott.
