“As we wrap up another year together, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks for your unwavering support,” Dion, 56, wrote, alongside a photo of herself looking up and holding her hands up in prayer.

“Your love and energy inspire me every day. I wish you all a joyful holiday season filled with warmth, laughter, and cherished moments with loved ones,” she continued. “Here’s to endless possibilities in the coming year. Wishing you a safe holiday and a fabulous New Year!”

Last year marked Dion’s return to the stage for the first time since being diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS) when she performed Hymne A L’Amour at the opening ceremony for the Paris Olympics.

“I’m honoured to have performed tonight, for the Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony, and so full of joy to be back in one of my very favorite cities,” Dion wrote on Instagram at the time. “Most of all, I’m so happy to be celebrating these amazing athletes, with all their stories of sacrifice and determination, pain and perseverance.”

She added, “All of you have been so focused on your dream, and whether or not you take home a medal, I hope that being here means that it has come true for you! You should all be so proud, we know how hard you have worked to be the best of the best. Stay focused, keep going, my heart is with you!”

Symptoms of Dion’s affliction mimic the characteristics of other ailments such as Parkinson’s Disease or multiple sclerosis. The muscle spasms associated with SPS sometimes appear out of the blue and can be triggered by loud noise or emotional distress, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

In addition to her live performance, Dion also released a film that documented her struggle with SPS back in June.

Then, last fall, she appeared in a promo video for a matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Dallas Cowboys that was played as part of the NFL’s Sunday Night Football lineup.

And amid her return to the limelight, the music icon told Vogue France that she’s committed to returning to the stage and performing live again.

“The way I see it, I have two choices. Either I train like an athlete and work super hard, or I switch off and it’s over, I stay at home, listen to my songs, stand in front of my mirror and sing to myself. I’ve chosen to work with all my body and soul, from head to toe, with a medical team. I want to be the best I can be,” she said.
