Chris Martin had a message for concertgoers during Coldplay’s first concert since the kiss-cam drama went viral last week.
While the memes and recreations have been everywhere, Coldplay had yet to issue a statement since Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and the head of the company’s HR department were captured on a big screen cuddling, during the band’s Boston stop of the “Music of the Spheres” world tour last week.
The frontman alerted the audience that they may be filmed while Coldplay performed on Saturday at a stadium in Madison, Wis.
“We’d like to say hello to some of you in the crowd,” Martin said, according to a fan’s video shared on X.
“How we’re gonna do that is we’re gonna use our cameras and put some of you on the big screen,” he added with a grin.
The 48-year-old warned cheekily: “So please, if you haven’t done your makeup, do your makeup now.”
The Coldplay fan who posted the show clip later noted on X that “zero couples” were shown on the venue’s big screen during the show.
During last week’s viral moment in Boston, the camera zoomed in showing Byron with his arms wrapped around Astronomer HR boss Kristin Cabot, both of whom immediately overreacted and ducked out of sight.
Martin joked: “Oh, look at these two. All right, come on, you’re OK.”
He then added: “Oh, what? Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”
Martin also tried to address the incident later in the performance, according to the Guardian.
“Holy s—,” he reportedly told the crowd. “I hope we didn’t do something bad.”

The clip went mega-viral, and it wasn’t long before the identity of couple — both of whom are married to other people — became public.
Astronomer, a tech company, initially wrote on LinkedIn that its board “initiated a formal investigation” and would “have additional details to share very shortly,” stating that its “leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability.”
Over the weekend, the company revealed that Byron had “tendered his resignation, and the board of directors has accepted” it.
Meanwhile, country star Morgan Wallen even poked fun of the kiss-cam nightmare during his concert on Friday night at the State Farm Arena in Glendale, Ariz.
He appeared to reference the viral video when chatting with the crowd ahead of his performance of his song, I’m A Little Crazy.

Wallen told the audience: “Anybody in here with their side chick or whatever, I think you’re safe here,” according to video posted by a fan on TikTok.
“I don’t condone cheating … anymore.”
Grace Springer, the woman who posted the viral video, said it was a “hot topic” for concertgoers but “no one knew who they were” until she shared the clip.
“I had no idea who the couple was,” she said. “Just thought I caught an interesting reaction to the kiss cam and decided to post it.”
